We talk about military recruiting facing record challenges. As with any problem, we respond by finding someone to blame. People publish thought pieces on how new generations of would-be recruits are lazy, entitled, overweight – the list goes on. But why don’t we hold that mirror up to ourselves and understand our own role and responsibilities in recruiting? How can we learn from these challenges instead of just blaming everyone else for them?

Heather Price has had a diverse consulting portfolio across the Pentagon, providing solutions in weapons systems acquisition, data science, strategic communication, and business management to the U.S. Army, the Air Force, and Department of Defense. She currently serves as an advisor for Strategic Operations in Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army (G-3/5/7). She holds a Master’s in Defense Policy from American University and a Bachelor’s in International Politics from the American University of Paris. She has also completed multiple executive education programs through Harvard Business School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford School of Engineering.
