Stephanie is a nationally recognized subject matter expert and sought after speaker on Military Families and Entrepreneurship. She is a member of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Spouse Ambassador Network and a founding affiliate partner of the Coalition for Veteran Owned Business (CVOB) working with Fortune 500 companies including Disney, USAA, Walmart, Johnson & Johnson, American Express and Lockheed
Stephanie chairs the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, Defense Veteran and Military Affairs (DVM) Committee, sits on the Mayor’s San Diego Coast Guard City Committee and is a member of the California Department of Veteran’s Affairs, DVBE Advisory Council. She is also on the Advisory Committee for Veteran Launch, a division of Main Street Launch, CDFI.
A successful small business owner herself, Stephanie founded The Rosie Network in 2012 to Empower, Impact and Advocate on behalf of our nation’s veteran and military spouse small business owners and budding entrepreneurs. In 2016, The Rosie Network opened San Diego’s first shared office incubator, the Military Entrepreneur Center which houses Service2CEO, an individualized business development program for active-duty, veterans and military spouses looking to launch and grow a small business in San Diego. The Military Entrepreneur Center was awarded the SBA’s national Growth Accelerator Award for Excellence.
To address the military spouse unemployment crisis, The Rosie Network opened its first Rosie Chapter in Annapolis, Maryland in 2018 serving military spouses with business development support, access to resources and mentorship. Building on its success, six additional Rosie Chapters are scheduled to open 2019 in San Diego, San Antonio, Ft. Hood, Ft. Belvoir, Ventura (Los Angeles) and Seattle, Washington.
The Rosie Network also hosts Rosie’s List, the nation’s largest search tool featuring verified veteran and military spouse-owned businesses with more than 25,000 members across the country and publishes the Military Entrepreneur Magazine (M.E.MAG) with more than 75,000 online readers.
Stephanie has taught entrepreneurship and home-based business classes to transitioning service members and military families around the country. She is the daughter of a Vietnam veteran, spouse of retired Rear Admiral Thomas L. Brown II (SEAL) and mother of two boys. Stephanie has received numerous awards during her husband’s military career, including the Department of the Army Commanders Award for Civilian Service presented by Brigadier General Butler, Commander, Special Operations Command SOUTH.
