Over his 30-year career in entertainment and media, David Gale has prided himself on reinvention both personally and as a change-agent in the business. He transitioned from being a lawyer to negotiating deals at a major talent agency (ICM), to running production companies for some of Hollywood’s iconic filmmakers (Ridley Scott and Gale Anne Hurd), to launching new divisions at a top media company (MTV).
As Co-Founder & CEO of We Are The Mighty (WATM), Gale, the son of a WWII veteran, has channeled his experience and passion into creating and growing an innovative media brand focused on empowering and celebrating America’s military, a large and loyal group who makeup almost one-third of the country (114 million). WATM’s team of veterans and media professionals explore all aspects of military life and culture, and break down stereotypes with stories and experiences that entertain, inform, inspire and celebrate the spirit of service. The Company works with brands, nonprofits, and veteran service organizations that want to have a positive and meaningful impact while also strengthening the relationship between the military, veterans, and civilians.
While at the helm of various production companies, Gale produced 27 films which generated more than $1 billion in box office revenue and earned dozens of awards and nominations including Oscars, Independent Spirit and Golden Globes. He is recognized for launching the careers of some of Hollywood’s best-known talent and consistently producing memorable and profitable entertainment.
Gale is the founder of nonprofit Hollywood HEART. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Stanford University where he graduated with honors. He received his JD from New York University and was Editor of the Law Review.
